SSSC has participated in the volleyball competition at the Annual Sikh
Games
since 1997. The team aims to emulate the success of other SSSC sides at
the
games and take that allusive first place in their hometown.
The present group of players represents the best team yet assembled.
The
squad has the required mix of youth and experience to assert
themselves. The
squad of players is as follows:
1. Mukhtiar Singh Bassi (Manager)
2. Mandeep Singh Johal (Captain)
3. Daljit Singh (Gandhi)
4. Sonu
5. Raju Singh Mann
6. Gurdaver Singh
7. Ramanjit Singh Gahir (Lucky)
8. Kamalpreet Singh Mann (Georgi)
9. Amarjit Singh Sahota
10. Navdeep Singh (Sunny)
This dynamic group has been together for about six months achieving
excellent results in various competitions.
SSSC has received additional benefit from participation in an ‘A Grade’
(Seniors) competition at what is renowned as the largest league in the
state. The challenge will be to build on the momentum of these
victories,
and to ultimately transform ability to achievement. It is expected that
the
team will start equal favourites with the almighty Sydney A team whom
has yet
to be defeated at the games.
